45 and brand new to hunting, didn’t grow up in a hunting family. Army vet so I have experience in shooting. I live in the east valley, and would like to begin my hunting journey with small game such as rabbits, birds, etc. only interested in hunting what I’ll eat but ok if you are into the sport. Open to pairing with both seasoned hunters I can learn from or newbies like myself where we can learn together. Plan on using a 20 gauge pump action shotgun as my primary firearm, although I will have a small sidearm with me as well. I prefer a partner that does their research, is dependable and is prepared …not a “wing-it” type of person. Looking forward to starting this journey.

It seems all my hunting partners have decided to do canned hunts in other states. I'd like to find a good, dependable, hunting partner, or partners that still enjoy the outdoors and the sport. I am amicable, easy to get along with, and know when to keep quiet. I am very fit and keep myself that way for hunting. I am avid reloader and have been reloading since 1977. I love to shoot Long Range as well as bow, pistol, and muzzleloaders. I can cook in camp and enjoy it, as long as it is a shared responsibility as well as the cleanup. I find it is beneficial to take only what is essential into a hunting camp. But I am amiable to help a partner set up what is needed for their comfort. It is important to me that I support my partner in the retrieval of game, and I would hope my partner feels the same. Shared expenses for gas is fine.

    I am new at hunting and only have been elk hunting once up in Payson. I want to go with somebody who wants company and is seasoned and has much more knowledge than I do so I can learn about tracking, stocking and dressing your game in the field.
